Dr. Dave Unander

Dr. Dave Unander teaches our Tropical Agriculture and Missions course during May Session in Costa Rica. Currently, he is Professor of Biology at Eastern University. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota.

Before Eastern, Dave's research included plant breeding at University of Puerto Rico, and research with Baruch Blumberg at Fox Chase Cancer Center on tropical plants with anti-viral effects. He has served on the boards of several Christian service missions involved in tropical agriculture, including ECHO (Educational Concerns for Hunger Organization). His book, Shattering the Myth of Race: Genetic Realities and Biblical Truths, has been included in interdisciplinary courses at several universities.
